Scrubs is one of those great shows you can catch on TV late at night, and you expect it to be on when nothing else is. It is packed full of humor that almost anyone can relate to, and includes problems that real people can actually understand. Rather than watching some crazy soap opera with twisted story lines, Scrubs brings out the humor in everyday live even just by sitting in a coffee shop and chatting with friends.
The hospital series Scrubs, is a situation comedy about a doctor and friends who’s professional and personal lives are centered around the Sacred Hart teaching Hospital, and always seem to be daydreaming over different things. I find the slapstick comedy of it really funny and a very easy program to watch and enjoy.
Plot Summary
Scrubs is a series that focuses on the day to day professional and personal lives of the main characters working at the Sacred Hart teaching Hospital.
It features pretentious characters, humorous situations and dreamlike sketches which are presented as the daydreams of the main characters, and linked by voiceover from the narrator who is Dr John ‘J D’ Michael Dorian as seen through J D’s eyes, ‘J D’ is a young and sensitive man, good natured and talented doctor, who strikes up a very close relationship with a fellow intern, Elliot Reid, this relationship does become on many occasions romantic. The majority of the other main characters are medical professionals.
Scrubs was created by Bill Lawrence. The show was also produced by Bill Lawrence, Goldman and Donovan, Bill Callahan and ABC Studios.
The show has now run for seven series, the final episode was premiered October 2007.
Main Characters and Cast
The shows main character and narrator is J D played by Zach Braff with Sarah Chalke as Dr Elliot Reid, his romantic interlude. J D’s best friend Dr Christopher Duncan Turk is played by Donald Faison. Head nurse Carla Espinosa who eventually marries Doctor Turk is played by Judy Reyes. Two other actors in the show are John C McGinley who plays Dr Percival ‘Perry’ Cox who is the senior physician and the hospital’s residency Director, and is also J D’s mentor, Ken Jenkins plays Dr Robert ‘Bob’ Kelso the hospitals cold and heartless chief of medicine.
The only lead character in this series who is not a medical professional is the hospital custodian known only as ‘Janitor’ played by Neil Flynn, who tends to pull mean spirited jokes on J D.

Is It Worth Watching?
'Scrubs' sports a likable ensemble cast and a quick-witted script that generally avoids overly sentimental moments despite the relatively serious subject matter it deals with. Bizarre fantasy flashes and a comic inner dialogue from the main character, J.D. (Zach Braff) add charm.

It's not every show in the universe that can pull off a line like "Would we all be better served if we filled this patient with a creamy caramel center?"
Which is why we're happy to see "Scrubs" back at it.
NBC's returning hospital comedy feels especially welcome in a season where so few new half-hours seem to be populated by remotely real people. (Or, in the case of "Cavemen," species.) Here, there's human authenticity in Zach Braff's screwup J.D., Sarah Chalke's loopy Elliot, Donald Faison's strutting Turk, Judy Reyes' wise Carla, Ken Jenkins' cantankerous Dr. Kelso, and, of course, John C. McGinley's out-there Dr. Cox. And, lest we forget, The Janitor (Neil Flynn).
